The firm of Taylor Shaw was established in 1933 by Mr N E Taylor who was convinced he could bring something different and new to the Christchurch legal services market. From that time Taylor Shaw has constantly grown and sought to enrich our clients’ lives with the best legal advice and service. The Taylor family connection continues today with Ingrid Taylor, partner in the firm and grand-daughter to Mr Taylor, looking after the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her grandfather's clients.
Innovation is part of our culture and history. By the 1970’s, Mr Taylor’s son Malcolm was a partner in the business and after he saw an IBM mainframe demonstrated at a conference in Hawaii, Taylor Shaw became one of the first law firms in Christchurch to purchase a computer. In those days the state-of-the-art machine needed its own room! Today, the latest technology and connectivity – from our modern practice management systems to legal research resources to online communications with clients here and around the world – enable us to act swiftly and efficiently on behalf of our clients.
Taylor Shaw, led by partners Ingrid Taylor and Kathryn Dalziel, is widely regarded as a modern boutique law firm with a vibrant brand. Their team of lawyers are specialist experts in their fields. They love the practice of law and ensure their clients enjoy personalised service and practical advice.
