Emma Clark

Emma is a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution and Litigation Team and Family Law Team.

Emma graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2024 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in June 2025.

Emma works across a broad range of disputes, with particular interests in relationship property, care of children matters, family violence matters, and employment matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Emma volunteered as a caseworker at Community Law Canterbury and assisted with running the Free Legal Clinic at the Citizens advice Bureau in Hornby.

Emma has experience assisting on a variety of matters in the Family Court, District Court, High Court, and mediation settings.

Recent experience includes:

  • Assisted in obtaining an interim injunction in the District Court.
  • Assisted and appeared as junior counsel in the Family Court in Care of Children proceedings for a defended safety hearing.
  • Assisted and appeared as junior counsel in defended Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act proceedings involving the review of welfare guardian and property manager orders.
  • Appearing as junior counsel at relationship property settlement conferences and short cause hearings.
  • Advising and assisting clients to protect their assets before entering into a de facto relationship or marriage through contracting out agreements.
  • Assisting clients with relationship property matters and separation agreements involving trusts, family assets, and business interests.
