William is a Senior Associate in our Property and Commercial Team.

William provides advice to clients on a range of commercial matters, including the establishment and ongoing governance of companies, negotiation of commercial contracts, and commercial leasing arrangements. William also assists clients in relation to property matters, including the sale or purchase of residential property, rectification of title defects, wills and enduring powers of attorney.

In his free time, William referees rugby in the Canterbury region and is the treasurer of the Canterbury Rugby Referees’ Association.

Recent work includes:

• Advising a start-up company on matters of company governance and shareholding, including its shareholder agreement and a subscription agreement for an incoming investor;
• Assisting a young couple to purchase land and build their dream home;
• Negotiating manufacturing agreements for export products for an internationally owned, New Zealand-based company; and
• Assisting a couple to rectify the defective title to their rental property so that they could sell the property.
